For the week three Mask Challenge, which asked participants to make a mask inspired by the number five, Dr. Omega chose to make a luchador version of the mask worn by Racer X in the anime Speed Racer! In the show, Speed Racer drives a car called the Mach 5, and the Japanese name of the anime is “Mach Go-Go-Go,” with “go” being the Japanese word for the number 5. Dr. Omega also points out that the “X” in “Racer X” could possibly be read as the roman numeral 10, which is 5 times 2! We’ll accept that! This is the second week in a row that the good Doctor has drafted a new pattern for his Challenge mask, as this one is the first mask he’s made with no nose.
